Forged Through Service, Rooted In Value
Tom Barr and Jon Gratton are the co-founders of Serra Street Holdings. Tom and Jon forged a close bond during their service in the Marine Corps, where they shared numerous formative experiences during unit training and combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Their service instilled in them a strong belief that "brilliance in the basics" is the foundation of and catalyst for superior results. As investors, the "basics" begin with a value-oriented approach, identifying assets with asymmetric upside, and a focus on capital preservation and risk mitigation in all investment decisions. As humans, they both deeply value family and fatherhood, and they are committed to hard work, integrity, and transparency in everything they do.

Tom Barr
Tom Barr is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Serra Street Holdings. With a rich background that includes launching a successful investment fund in the manufactured housing sector, acquiring nearly 500 units, Tom's expertise extends far beyond real estate. His business operating experience is particularly notable, having managed a 9-figure business unit and playing a pivotal role in the post-merger integration of small businesses in the veterinary field. Previously, Tom served at McKinsey and Company after earning his MBA from Harvard Business School. Tom is a former Marine, having served as a Scout Sniper Platoon Commander and Ground Intelligence Officer during combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He lives in Tampa, FL with his wife and two children.

Jon Gratton
Jon Gratton is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Serra Street Holdings. Jon is currently the co-owner of a business serving the Equine Care and Management industry. Previously, Jon has identified and acquired nearly $100M in value-add multifamily, mixed-use and light industrial assets since 2019 while serving in various senior investment roles. He formerly worked at the Boston Consulting Group first as Consultant and then Project Leader, focusing on turnaround and restructuring projects. Prior to BCG, Jon earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a former Marine Infantry Officer, where he led Marines in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. A Pennsylvania native, Jon currently lives in Western Washington with his wife, two children, his dog, and his wife’s horses.
